Square your quilt top before adding borders

It is important that your quilt top is flat and square before you add borders

  • If your quilt top centre is not square, your borders will not be square
  • If your borders are not square, your quilt top will not be square and will not lay flat

Why is this a problem?

If your quilt top is not square an does not lay flat, you may have the following problems when quilting:

  • difficulting basting your quilt top to your batting and backing
  • tucks and pleats in your quilting
