How to make your rulers and templates non-slip

The problem that I am trying solve

Acrylic templates and rulers can be very slippery unless there is some type of textured surface incorporated at manufacture or added by the user (for example, ‘Creative Grids’ have built in grip on their templates and are very good to use)

Slippery rulers and templates can make it very difficult to cut accurately – Cut Accurately is one of my Golden Rules

My recommendation

I use medical tape (the type used to secure bandages) because it:

Medical tape
I use Nexcare Micropore gentle paper table

I attach small strips of medical tape to the underside of my templates and rulers, making sure not to block or obscure my view of any markings on my rulers or templates (this is rarely a problem though)
