Information to include on your labels
I include the following information on my quilt labels:
- The name of the pattern designer
- The name of the person who made the Quilt Top (remember that the name of the Quilt Top maker is not always the same as the quilter)
- The date (I recommend at least the date and month) that the quilt was completed
- The name of the quilt
- If the quilt is a gift or has been commissioned, the recipient's name
- The town, State and country where the quilt was made
- Any other information that is relevant to the quilt, for example, for a particular event (birthday, wedding, graduation, competition etc)
Historians will thank you for including as much detail as you can
You will never know the significance of your quilt in the years to come
