How it began
The little centre square was a lonely treasure looking for a home
So I found it some friends
Step 1
Here we go!
This idea has been marinating for a while now
To get the creative juices flowing, I made a pieced block with some pretty “treasures” (also known as “scraps”)
Step 2
I thought that on point would be elegant
I added a hot pink border because wanted it to pick up the little bit of pink in the centre flower
A little bit of zing adds spice!
There is always room for hot pink
Step 3
Some gorgeous Robyn Randolph floral fabric was speaking to me – I really love this fabric. I have a few metres. This will be their new home
The aqua refers back to the centre and adds continuity of design
Step 4
I added Flying Geese for movement
Wild Rose by BlackBird Designs for Moda Fabric wanted to be on the act
I chose this fabric because it compliments the colours and style of the fabric that I used in the centre panel
Step 5
I added Flying Geese for movement
Wild Rose by BlackBird Designs for Moda Fabric wanted to be on the act
I chose this fabric because it compliments the colours and style of the fabric that I used in the centre panel
Step 6
The geese now fly all around the centre
Step 7
The geese are surrounded by a skinny green border strip which refers back to the centre block
Step 8
More of the Robyn Pandolph floral (Moda Fabrics) makes large triangles which then puts the centre back on point
Step 9
Then another hot pink skinny border
Step 10
So the next step will be to add another round of some piecing
Watch this space…
